The 21th Annual Virginia Beach Spring Craft Market will feature more than 200 artists and craftspeople from over 20 states. Just in time for fresh spring decorating, Mother’s Day gift-buying and summer fashions, the Convention Center will be transformed into a huge festive marketplace bustling with over 10,000 enthusiastic shoppers looking for a diverse selection of traditional and contemporary artworks. From the twenty-somethings to the baby boomers, there’s something unique and extraordinary for every taste and budget.

Featured artisans will offer fine arts, pottery, jewelry, stained glass, wood, baskets, photography, fiber arts, apparel and more. Spring specialties will consist of wrought iron, seasonal wreaths, garden statuary, birdhouses, handmade pet treats, outdoor furniture, pottery, wind chimes and fresh herbs.

Specialty food vendors presenting tasty handmade edibles will offer almond pound cakes, homemade jams and jellies, party dips, Italian sauces, fudge, sparkling cider, soups and spicy salsas.

This year's event will be part of “Virginia Beach 2007”, an important regional celebration of America's historic 400th anniversary. Festive entertainment relating to the colonial period will be provided for the entire family, including interactive activities such as beekeeping, candle making, colonial medical practice presentations and craft demonstrations.

In addition, the “Heritage Celebration!” area will showcase local craft designers and guilds with enlightening educational demonstrations to broaden awareness and appreciation of American Craft history, production and preservation.
