Dodgeball is Getting Stadium Time as a Real Sport!

From the playground to the US Airways Center to the Olympics-Dodgeball is coming to Phoenix! The National Dodgeball Association (NDA) is holding a dodgeball tournament with the Arizona Rattlers at the US Airways Stadium on Saturday, May 12, 2007. The NDA is contracting players to play against teams coming as far away as New York City. Teams from all over the nation will have the opportunity to knock off these NDA players from their contracted spots. The top team will get a chance to play the NDA contracted team during the Arizona Rattlers half-time show,

The NDA plans to hold these stadium dodgeball tournaments across the USA. “We are even pushing to place the sport in the Olympics” states NDA owner, Mark Murphy. The ultimate purpose of showcasing dodgeball is to inherit this game into a future Olympic sport, and a big reason why this May tournament is very important for all affiliated with the sport is to get the attention of national television coverage for future tournaments. Over 10,000 spectators will have a chance to cheer and jeer. By supporting and participating in this event, one contributes to the validity of dodgeball as another up-and-coming professional sport.
