Tampa, FL —- The Board of Directors for the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit (HART) in Tampa has awarded a contract to MV Transportation, Inc. to operate and manage its new flexible bus neighborhood services. The new customized service, which will provide a connection to HART fixed route, will allow riders to be dropped off at any location within a designated service area. The flexible service will introduce public transit into lower density areas Temple Terrace, Town N’ Country, Seffner, Carrollwood, and three areas in Brandon – areas that are difficult to serve with traditional fixed route services.

HART is providing nine new buses for this contract, and MV will be responsible for management, maintenance, drivers and daily operations. HART and MV continue to discuss the start date for this new and innovative service.

The HART flex service represents MV’s eighth contract in the state of Florida. Currently, MV operates transit services in Orlando, Winter Springs, West Palm Beach, Jacksonville, Gainesville and Lake County, as well as an employee and long term parking shuttle service at the Orlando International Airport.

Recognized as a national leader in contracted transportation services, MV Transportation is based in Fairfield, California, and is the largest privately-held transportation management firm in the nation. The company provides an array of transportation services in 26 states and the District of Columbia. MV employs more than 10,000 dedicated transit professionals.
