ReSoft International, a software reseller which specializes in the supply and implementation of compliance software, has released an advisory white paper on how an organization can apply the MXtreme suite of products, developed by Borderware and deployed by ReSoft International to properly address the obligations in the new world of regulatory compliance.

The advisory paper describes the four essential steps – Examine (looking at the message and its entire contents), Determine (appropriate action based on policies and content), Deliver (deliver the message in accordance with policy, and encrypt as necessary), and Report (monitor and provide reports to demonstrate compliance).

Clive Horton, CEO of Re-Soft International explains “We must adhere strictly to the new regulations for two reasons. Firstly, they are there for a very good reason, to protect sensitive information – health, financial or just private. Secondly, the penalties for non-compliance are very real, and could include hefty fines and even jail time for company officers who cannot demonstrate a firm intent and attempt to comply. There have been no test cases under the compliance laws yet, but you can be sure when they come they will be high profile and punitive”.

The advisory White Paper, “When Pressing the Send Button Leads to Legal Liability”, can be downloaded free of charge from www.re-soft.com/bw. ReSoft also offers consulting workshops to assist in defining policy and procedures, and then implementing the software that allows it all to work.
