New York – Today, i1connect had the opportunity to have a one-on-one interview with Tony Hernandez, Campaign Manager for 2008 Presidential Candidate Daniel Imperato.

Imperato, who is the country's leading independent candidate, has been recently courted by the Libertarian party to lead their charge towards the White House in 2008.

However, the most daunting task for any third party or independent candidate for President of the United States is actually getting on the ballot.

When asked about this issue, Hernandez stated, "Daniel Imperato is committed to running a fifty (50) state campaign. He brings his organizational business skills into the campaign arena…Mr. Imperato brings sound common ground solutions to this race, which will bring broad appeal to the voters and a credible presence of the Libertarian Party on the national stage."

Recent polls conducted by CNN, Gallop, and ABC News show that America would be open to an independent, but those same polls also show that many Americans are not voters and are not involved in the political process.

Hernandez asserted that Imperato is bringing those new people into the American political process.

"While the D's and R's quibble about who can be the most extreme within their parties to win their respective nominations; Daniel Imperato is bringing new people into the electoral process all across the country and the resources which will broaden the base, name recognition, and interest in the most viable alternative to the two-party monopoly of the presidency. This is the time and Imperato is the man."
In addition, Hernandez stated that the Imperato team is building a solid national base of volunteers and will be committed to providing support for their national network.

"We are welcoming volunteers from every state to help us grow the party. Team Imperato will ensure that every state and DC have ballot access. We will provide talent and materials to help spread the word and raise funds for the party and our campaign. We are willing to help every state organize for growth."

Hernandez, who formerly was involved with the Reform Party of Florida and was a key contributor to the Ross Perot campaigns of 1992 and 1996, stated that now is the time for the Libertarian party to grow and become a mainstream political party.
"We are recruiting and accepting those who want to Win Now! From the school board to the White House, the time is now for the Libertarian Party. We believe that is self-evident"
