Become a local tourist…and reap the rewards

April 13, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Tetbury Tourist Information Office is offering a special bonus pass for locals desperate to see Chart-topping acts including Travis and James Morrison who will be playing at Westonbirt – The National Arboretum over the summer. The array of musical talent will all take to the stage as part of this summers Forest Tours. It is hope the concerts will attract more visitors to the picturesque town of Tetbury; although locals will be able to take advantage of an extra special offer.

Those who live in the area and purchase their concert tickets from Tetbury Tourist Information Centre (TIC) will receive a free visitor pass to Westonbirt Arboretum, home to some of the rarest and most exotic trees in the world. This offer is exclusive to local residents of Tetbury. The tickets are valid from April - July 2007 and the offer is on a first come, first served basis.

The move is part of a scheme to encourage locals to use their TIC in order to prevent them being forced to become self-funding, a move which could see them start to disappear from areas altogether.

Travis, whose hits include Driftwood and Sing, will kick things off on June 29. The Scottish group became famous as part of the 90’s Indie Rock revolution.

Other acts making an appearance include The Feeling (June 30). They enjoyed tremendous success recently with songs such as ‘Fill My Little World’ and ‘Love it when you call’. (This concert has sold out.)

Brit Award winner James Morrison (July 1) will be sure to entertain the crowd with hits such as ‘You Give Me Something’ and new single ‘Undiscovered’ (due for release March 13.)

Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra will be on stage with a special guest for their performance (July 20). They will perform with legendary Scot Lulu.

The concerts will have a grand finale on July 21, with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and a huge fireworks display.

Fear not, for those wanting more – chart-toppers M-People will be Proud to be playing July 22.

Ends 22 March 2007
