VANCOUVER, Canada, May 1, 2007 – GlobalPetCemetery (www.globalpetcemetery.com) has created the first free worldwide virtual pet cemetery. Pets have long been trusty companions of humans. Pets can provide us relief from loneliness, reduce blood pressure, make us exercise more than we normally would, and provide other important stress management benefits.

Sometimes, pets have become such an integral part of our lives that they become more like family members to us. Sadly, pets have a much shorter lifespan, which results in grief and frustration when they pass away.

"When pets pass away, they are sometimes given less than what we would give if one of our family or friends pass away," says Ben Jackson, Founder of GlobalPetCemetery.com. "GlobalPetCemetery.com seeks to address this discrepancy in remembering our dead pets."

GlobalPetCemetery.com, a new website established in March 2007, has been created to provide people with a completely free global online pet cemetery service. Users can post memorials of their pets online, and can be assured that their pets will always be remembered.

GlobalPetCemetery.com has done away with the need for complicated registrations that typical websites have. The posting process has also been greatly simplified to make posting fast and easy, with the option of posting a picture of your pet.

The site has achieved half a million hits within 5 weeks of its launch, and has garnered the attention of several large sponsors, including several web hosting companies.

According to Aaron Lee, a third-year Engineering student at the University of Adelaide, who made a memorial in GlobalPetCemetery.com for his pet dog, "Brutus and I were really close, and went he passed away, I grieved for several weeks. GlobalPetCemetery.com gave me a way to remember Brutus by, and I know that his memorial will always be kept online."
