Hansen’s Tree Service Offering Free Tree Care Workshop - Mike Miller will broadcast live and Hortikids will provide entertainment for children

April 16, 2007: LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO — Hansen’s Tree Service will provide tree care seminars on Saturday, April 21 at Boulevard Park in Lake St. Louis from 9 a.m. to noon to educate local residents about spring tree care.

Hansen’s will have three seminars, all open to the public, to educate local citizens about proper tree selection and tree care techniques they can use this spring. Hansen’s will also provide free lunch for registered attendees and Mike Miller from KMOX Garden Hotline will broadcast live from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

“At Hansen’s, we’re committed to continuing education and professional certification programs to provide the best service to our customers,” Jeff Hansen, President of Hansen’s Tree Service, said. “We want to share our knowledge with others to ensure the safety and beauty of the trees in our community.”

Hansen’s certified arborists will discuss “Pruning and Mulching” and a seminar on “Planting and Selection” will be given by Ben Grossman of the St. Charles Community Tree Council. Mark Grueber of the Missouri Department of Conservation will present “Cultivating Wildlife in Your Backyard.”

In addition, Hortikids, a local organization dedicated to teaching young children about horticulture, will provide kid-friendly activities at the event, including decorating pots and planting. Hansen’s also has planned a tree planting event for kids.

“Partnering with Hortikids will make this event fun and educational for the whole family,” Hansen said.
