April 23, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
San Francisco, CA - Leaders and managers have the opportunity to be employees’ primary communicators and change facilitators. Yet in many cases, managers are not equipped for this role. Melcrum, a global research and training company which specializes in internal communication, will offer a comprehensive two-day training program, Bootcamp for Communicators – Developing a Communication Toolkit for Managers, to address this issue.

Held on June 13-14, 2007 at the Crowne Plaza Union Square in San Francisco, participants of the training program will learn how to develop a Toolkit that fits the unique needs and characteristics of their work environment. They will also learn how to:
— Secure senior leadership’s support for the effort
— Assess the communication needs of managers with baseline surveys and interviews
— Gather critical data to ensure the Toolkit is user-driven
— Develop a custom Toolkit project plan for their work environment
— Train leaders and managers in their role as communicators
— Utilize a four module framework: Connect, Communicate, Coach, Change
— Use their time and resources more effectively
— Set objectives for communication programs and then work with managers to achieve their objectives

The training program will be led by Melcrum Trainer, Deborah Dunn-Roy, a highly acclaimed speaker at past Melcrum conferences and webinars. As the Corporate Director, Internal Communications at Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) in Vancouver, BC, Dunn – Roy developed from concept to completion, the PHSA Communication Toolkit. The foundation of her communication approach is based on the empowerment and support of leaders and managers as primary communicators and change facilitators for both operational and large scale changes and initiatives.
