Life Coaching an Emerging Market in Canada

This leaves a wide open market for those who wish to pursue this career. Yet, coaching as a service is difficult to describe to potential clients exactly what it is a coach does. It simply cannot be expressed in words that the layperson can understand, and if you do manage to express it the explanation is often more long-winded than informative.

So how can an individual decide if coaching is right for them? Novus Life & Career Coaching is taking a new approach, and offering its services for free. Yes, free. For 30 minutes, any person in the world can talk one-to-one with Novus's Senior Coach and Proprietor, Cherilyn R. Lester. And unlike most free "trials", which are nothing more than an over-glorified sales pitch, those who try out Novus's free trial actually get a normal coaching session - no pressure. Clients can discuss their goals and dreams, where they are now, and how they plan to achieve what they want in life.

"This is not a new idea in marketing, it is just being done differently." says Cherilyn Lester, Senior Coach and Proprietor at Novus.

"We decided that the best way to describe what it is that Novus does for people, is to actually do it. To show them what (coaching) can do for them in their everyday life. Some companies use seminars to sell their products, or meetings to push a sale. We use meetings to demonstrate, and any decision - to buy, not to buy, or to even consider buying - is left entirely in the hands of the client."

She adds, "We're not in the business of making sales. We're in the business of changing lives - plain and simple."

Who knows. One day, coaching could be as common as going to the grocery store. And that's exactly the way it should be.

Novus Life & Career Coaching is founded and run by Cherilyn R. Lester, a woman who has been changing her own life for many years. As a former "headhunter", she offers career advice from a different perspective. Throughout her life, Ms. Lester has been studying councelling, psychology, logic, and spiritual thinking and beliefs. She will soon be pursuing her PhD, specializing in Holistic Life Coaching. For more info, or for a free session, email NovusLife@shaw.ca or visit www.NovusLife.ne1.net .
