ART+ podcast: the largest Ceramic Conference in America to be held in Davis, CA from April 27-29, 2007

ART+ interviewed artists John Natsoulas, Donna Billick and Professor Diane Ullman about their participation in the upcoming 18th annual California Conference for Advancement of Ceramic Art ( CCACA ).

CCACA is the largest Ceramic Conference in North America. It will be held in Davis, CA from April 27-29, 2007 and is organized every year by the Natsoulas Gallery. This year, 35 Universities are participating in CCACA and the keynote speaker is Betty Woodman who recently had a show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The interview focused on the importance of collaboration between art and science and the community and the important role that art, plants and public gardens play in education. The guests addressed the problems of education today and why they believed that art education is essential to developing and teaching leadership skills. ART+ also asked Professor Ullman and Donna Billick about the new, unique Art/Science Fusion program that is now being offered at UCDavis.
