Traditional Mexican dancers, Latino music, salsa dancing, and, of course, the finest tequila will be poured when Adobo Grill hosts its Cinco de Mayo celebration in Indianapolis on Saturday, May 5 at Adobo’s 82nd St. location on Indianapolis’ north side. The goal of party organizers is to make Adobo’s Cinco de Mayo party the signature event in Indianapolis.

“We’re making Cinco de Mayo as big a party as St. Patrick’s Day,” said Adobo Grill General Manager George Muñoz. “People can come out, enjoy a full day of Latino music and dancing along with some of Adobo’s most popular items…including the best margaritas in Indy.”

Cinco de Mayo celebrates the Battle of Puebla, which took place on May 5, 1862, where a Mexican force of 4,500 men defeated Napoleon III’s French Army in a moral and military victory for Mexico. The Mexican state of Puebla holds the largest Cinco de Mayo celebrations in Mexico and has grown in popularity in the U.S., particularly in the Southwest states bordering Mexico.

Adobo Grill’s Cinco de Mayo party kicks off at 3 p.m. and will feature entertainment throughout the day and close with salsa dancing.

Admission is $5 and tickets may be purchased at the door.

Adobo Grill is located at 4939 East 82nd St. in Indianapolis. Owned by daVINCI Group, Adobo Grill first opened in Chicago in 2000 and now has two Windy City locations to go with its newest venture in Indianapolis, which opened in April 2006. Adobo Grill is on the Web at: www.adobogrill.com.
