NEW YORK, NY April 25th, 2007 – BlogSoop LA (www.blogsoop.com/LA), the restaurant review site which aggregates the collective intelligence of Los Angeles food bloggers, debuted today, challenging the traditional outlets through which consumers find and choose restaurants. BlogSoop is the first site to provide easy access to the body of knowledge generated by food bloggers - lovers of food and dining who share their restaurant experiences via the Web.

The efficiency BlogSoop brings poses a serious threat to venerable yearly publications like Zagats and Fodors, which are often out of date by the time they are published. BlogSoop, updated daily, makes the latest information easily accessible. And since bloggers do not operate under the same cost or space restrictions as print publications, their reviews are often more extensive and, in many cases, supported by photographs.

"This group is only starting to receive the attention they deserve," said Doug Cress, BlogSoop's founder. "Taken collectively, food bloggers have an audience far in excess of the traditional media. Their impact will only continue to grow as the web becomes more ingrained in our everyday lives."

BlogSoop aggregates blogger reviews into a framework familiar to most Internet users. Visitors are able to search by restaurant name, cuisine, or location. The most relevant results, those restaurants with the most reviews, appear highest. The site features 12,000+ reviews, with hundreds added monthly.

"The savvy Internet user is no longer easily steered by biased information. BlogSoop offers a socially corrective mechanism to the impartiality inherent in other membership driven sites like CitySearch—whose reach has declined by more than half in the last year alone," said Cress.

BlogSoop distinguishes itself from other community-based review sites by screening out low quality content. Other review sites permit any visitor to critique a restaurant. BlogSoop features reviews from trusted and well informed epicures. Users are able to participate and improve the value of the site by rating reviews on a five point scale.

Los Angeles follows New York and San Francisco and is the third city to be unveiled in the last two months.
