NewNet's winning formula both on track and in business

Michael Meadows wins at Donington Park driving the Dallara F304 Mugen Honda for the NewNet Master Motorsport Formula 3 team competing in the 2007 Lloyds TSB Insurance British Formula Three Championship.

Following his last race at Oulton Park where he qualified on Pole Position, took a 4th place finish and was involved in a huge accident which destroyed the car; an accident many said he was lucky to walk away from, NewNet sponsored Michael Meadows rewarded the team with a National win and a second place finish in the latest Lloyds TSB Insurance British F3 International Series race at Donington Park circuit near Derby.

Two strong drives, setting the fastest qualifying lap and fastest race laps in both races in addition to the 1st and 2nd place finished demonstrates that Michael has special talents as a driver. In only his third Formula 3 race, he is competing against drivers with far more experience such as Sergio Perez and Cong Fu Cheng who have driven in A1 Grand Prix. Michael said today, “I’m very pleased, we were fast in the pre-season testing and should have come away from Oulton Park with more than a 4th place finish but this is much more like it. The team did a great job to rebuild the car since the accident and now we’ve got some good points on the board which places me second in the National Championship standings. It’s going to be close all year as there are good drivers in Formula 3, as you would expect, but I’ll only be satisfied with winning the Championship.”

The Lloyds TSB Insurance British F3 International Series now moves to Bucharest, Romania, for the street race; a new venue which will test driver and machine – it will also equally challenge the drivers as it is the first time this race has been run and nobody will have an advantage from having driven the track before.

“We at NewNet congratulate Michael on his superb drives, the win is fantastic but his drive in the second race with a damaged car really showed his driving skill. This is what competition is all about, in the business world NewNet is recognised as the highest performance ISP in the UK with products and technology to meet the demands and expectations of businesses, and as Michael has shown, you have to meet the challenges and improve your speed and performance to overcome the competition. Michael and the NewNet Master Motorsport team are now a proven winning combination.” said Peter Coates-Buglear, CEO of sponsor, NewNet plc.

Michael, already selected as a British Racing Driver’s Club ‘Rising Star’, has been awarded a place on the Motor Sport Association’s new MSA British Race Elite programme. If further proof was needed of this young driver’s talent and future as a professional racing driver; this is it. A successful early driving career in Formula BMW with 6 wins and 21 podium finishes has now been followed by what is tipped as the first of many future wins and podiums in the senior classes of International motorsport.
