April 29, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Some of today's top power bloggers are sharing secrets to building better blogs — and creating money-making opportunities — as part of a month-long "blog bash" sponsored by Chitika, Inc., a merchandising and advertising network that has partnerships with over 12,000 independent blogs.

The first-ever Blog Bash - 30 Days of 30 Expert Bloggers features some of today's top bloggers, including: Chris Batty of gizmodo.com; Julie Strietelmeier of the-gadgeteer.com; Chris Pirillo of lockergnome.com; Chris Brogan of network2.tv; Liew Cheon Fong of liewcf.com; Joel Comm of joelcomm.com; and Rosalind Gardner of netprofitstoday.com.

Throughout the month of April, these and other popular bloggers are writing on topics like "Dare to be Eccentric," "Sell Without Selling," and "Ten Secrets of an Earlier Adopter Tech Entrepreneur."

Postings by these influential bloggers are available on the Chitika blog at chitika.com/blog. The Blog Bash continues through April 30.

"Increasingly, bloggers are taking the plunge and placing their bets on blogging as a full-time career," says Chitika co-founder and CEO Venkat Kolluri. "Blogging full-time takes vision, discipline and some hard work — but Chitika believes it can be done. In fact, this Blog Bash shows us many examples of successful full-time bloggers who create compelling content, attract loyal audiences, and make a living doing it — some taking in hundreds of thousands of dollars a year — through advertising partnerships."

According to Kolluri, the objective of the Blog Bash is to empower emerging bloggers.

Among the postings already shared by these power bloggers:

— "Dare to be Eccentric" by Manolo of Manolo's Shoe Blog at shoeblogs.com: "Do not be afraid of giving your readers the odd combination of the topics, or the peculiar view of the world, or the different way of approaching your subject. Do not be afraid to be seen as different, or even eccentric. Indeed, to be eccentric in this crowded market is the strength."

— "Sell Without Selling" by Rosalind Gardner of www.netprofitstoday.com: "Above all, be honest. In a nutshell, take that salesman's hat off and start talking to your visitors the same way you would if you were discussing a product you really like with a friend."

— "Ten Secrets of an Earlier Adopter Tech Entrepreneur" by Chris Pirillo of www.lockergnome.com: "Watch trends — big ones, not just the ones the media tells you to watch… Ignore the echo chamber — once everybody starts talking about it, you've already missed your chance for being an early adopter."

In just the first half of April the Blog Bash has already generated a significant amount of positive feedback from the blogging community. Following are some of the comments:

— "Glad you can be part of Blog Bash. Thanks for all the wonderful tips."

— "Delightful post this morning from Manolo — great read. :) It looks like this 'Blog Bash' that you guys are doing is quickly becoming my favorite destination…"

— "This is really impressive! Others may think it's such an easy road, but it's great to know what really goes on in the mind of a small time blogger. Great Article Prashanth."
