JERRY HILL TO KEYNOTE "LIVING LONGER FORUM” IN SAN MATEO

Free Educational Program to Assist Mature Adults and their Families

San Mateo, Calif., A free educational seminar, the "Living Longer" Forum, will be held Friday, May 11, 2007 in San Mateo, CA. This event is designed to provide valuable information about the myriad of resources available to San Mateo County residents, ages 55 and older.

Ten speakers will cover topics including elder law, in-home care and safety, county services, reverse mortgages, hospice care, secrets of aging successfully, end of life options and more. Copies of all material presented, as well as lists of public, private, and non-profit services, will be available free of charge to all attendees.

“This year's program is an extension of the 2006 program for national 'Aging in Place' week," said Bobbi Decker, the program moderator. “In fact, the response from senior members of the community and their families last year pointed out the need for an even more comprehensive program.” The "Living Longer" forum features speakers from public and private entities that provide information about and assistance with many of the critical issues faced by our aging population.

As keynote speaker, Jerry Hill will again discuss the broad set of services offered by San Mateo County and will expand upon that information. The discussion of county services was one of the areas that attendees at the 2006 program found particularly interesting, with one person saying, “That information alone was worth the trip”

The Forum will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the offices of the San Mateo County Association of Realtors®, 850 Woodside Way, San Mateo and is free of charge. Lunch and refreshments will be served.
