The Institute for Environmental Solutions (IES), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Denver, Colorado, launched its new web site, www.InstituteforEnvironmentalSolutions.org, on May 10, 2005. The new site incorporates the Institute’s new logo design and provides new and updated information about IES, its projects, and its personnel.

IES exists to identify, demonstrate, implement and measure solutions to environmental and natural resource problems affecting Colorado's Front Range. Founded in 1989 as the National Air Quality Center, IES has a rich history of addressing complex environmental challenges, including a key role in the Denver Brown Cloud Study. Following a period of inactivity in the 1990s, the organization has recently been renamed, new board and staff leadership has been established, and the board has called for expanded pursuit of objective, integrated solutions to our region's most pressing environmental concerns.

The Institute for Environmental Solutions is dedicated to addressing complex environmental challenges. The goals of IES are to:

- Develop technical and cost-effective solutions to environmental problems;
- Demonstrate objective, measurable improvement in environmental quality, particularly air and water in Colorado's Front Range urban areas;
- Address all dimensions of an environmental problem and its proposed solutions;
- Develop and adhere to guidelines for independent, objective, scientifically-proven environmental problem solving, and:
- Disseminate technical results and methods.

IES invites everyone interested in science-based solutions for environmental issues to visit the new web site. IES welcomes suggestions for links to like-minded organizations and individuals.

Carol E. Lyons, IES President, recently announced the addition of four graduate student interns to the IES team. All four interns are featured on the web site. The user-friendly site was masterminded by Erin Rogers (www.health-e-meals.com), with design support from Heidi Ching and Dennis Tiu. The IES logo was designed by Patricia Zapata (www.zapatadesign.com).
