Pet Foods Recall Spawns Book on Holistic Approach to Feeding Dogs and Cats

Ocean Shores, WA – As concerns continue to escalate over the recent pet food recall notices, a local Washington woman has taken matters into her own hands and written a book on nutrition and healthy eating for dogs and cats.

“I had been watching the recalls with growing concern,” stated Jane Waters, a local woman who has lived in an organic world for years. “There are so many pollutants anymore that it’s becoming a real concern for people who want to be healthy and protect not only themselves and their families, but also their pets. So, I dug into researching just where the problem resides and how to solve the problem of feeding your furry friends the right foods.”

Waters discovered along her journey that pet foods are mostly comprised of dry foods – mostly grains, rices, fillers of some indeterminate origin, or cooked meat and vegetables of again questionable origin. “If you dig into the truth of pet foods,” she said, “what you will find is that we have been feeding our pets nothing but garbage and leftovers for years, all packaged in glowing terms of ‘healthy, vitamin-enriched, great tasting’ meals that, in reality, are nothing but fluffed up grain nuggets that are ‘flavor enhanced” with something you wouldn’t want to use to clean your toilets.”

The result is a simple, concisely-written book of about 40 pages that has the perfect solution to feeding your cats and dogs a healthy meal program. “Cats and dogs are carnivores,” Waters explains. “They come from a history of feral animals and have the same nutritional needs that their wild cousins have. Namely, they need raw meat and vegetables, with a little pure water thrown in for good measure.”

This book, titled “If You Love Them, Feed Them Right,” is the first piece of an organic website that Ms. Waters is putting together that will ultimately be a compendium of organic products, and links to organic products, that will help people build a more healthy life for themselves and their families amidst the crush of pesticides, additives, and pollutants that make up modern-day life.
