JELCE.Com Announces Adjuster Training To Help Keep Homeowners From Losing Millions During Hurricane Season

Greenville, SC – During hurricane season the demand for adjusters outweighs the number of trained adjusters available costing homeowners in unpaid losses. JELCE.com, a 20-year insurance training school, has introduced a practical, hands on training class that prepares inexperienced adjusters to do their job the right way the first time.

With the lure of making anywhere from $20,000 to Over $90,000 during an active storm season many people simply get an adjuster’s license in hand and sign up to adjust losses with little or no practical experience or training. The result is property owners who do not get indemnified completely for their losses. The property owner then needs to seek supplemental claims though their insurer and if recovery is still not satisfactory, to ultimately pursue legal action. This costs the insurance company more than if the estimate was done properly the first time and ultimately these higher costs translate into higher premiums.

JELCE.com is an insurance training school that began in 1986 providing training in a dozen states to over 50,000 professionals. Asked why they developed this course for their portfolio, Linda Gold, JELCE.com’s Program Coordinator, said, “We were amazed when we learned after Hurricane Katrina how many untrained adjusters were doing claims for unsuspecting property owners. We found a gaping hole in terms of practical education and developed a comprehensive course to fill that gap.”

The 6-day Practical Adjuster Training class offers even the greenest adjuster the knowledge needed to write accurate and complete estimates. The students not only learn all the policy and construction basics but also go onsite to a mock disaster claim and learn to scope the damages (investigate, document and take pictures). They then take their scopes and learn to build estimates using the industry standard software, Xactimate. According to one previous student, “I went to New Orleans after Katrina with no experience and ended up costing both the homeowners and myself thousands due to my lack of knowledge. If I had taken this class first it would have made a world of difference. Now I am equipped to be a professional.”

The ultimate beneficiaries of well educated and practically trained adjusters are the property owners and insurance companies.
