HOUSTON —May 2007— Scrapbookers all over the country will gather for National Scrapbooking Day, Saturday, May 5, 2007 to celebrate the hobby that topped $2.4 billion in sales in 2006.

Memory-keeping and crafting enthusiasts will gather at scrapbooking "crops" and celebrate by doing what they love. Creative expression, fellowship, lots of photos, patterned paper, embellishments and chocolate round out the features of a scrapbooking crop.

"Scrapbooking has a wonderful social aspect," said Veronica Hugger, president of the National Scrapbooking Association, the Texas-based organization that sponsors National Scrapbooking Day. "NSD will be celebrated all over the country - and the world - by those who desire to showcase and share their memories."

Most NSD events include games and challenges, demonstrations of favorite scrapbooking products and tools, and make-n-takes, sample projects, all part of the total scrapbooking experience. NSD crops are held in stores, churches, schools, hotels and other venues that provide the space and uninterrupted time croppers crave. Most events are all day, and some last all weekend.

Listed below are some of the events taking place on Saturday, May 5. Most scrapbooking stores recognize NSD is some way. To find your local scrapbooking retailer, visit the NSA Store Locator at www.nsa.gs.
