The AOR/AAA band Home At Last has kept a low profile in recent years, but for its 20th anniversary, the group's members decided to come back on the music scene with a big splash.

Home At Last's first CD of new material in 10 years, “Radio Silence,” is the first album issued by the quartet that can be purchased worldwide through the Web site CDBaby.com and is also available from several digital download sites, including I-Tunes.com, Napster.com, and BuyMusic.com. The band released three full-length CDs and one four-song EP from 1989 through 1997.

The music on the 10-song CD ranges from rock to pop to an ambitious and engaging cover of an avant-garde instrumental from the 1970s British rock group King Crimson.

Home At Last also signed a contract with MTV to license songs from its new CD to be used in shows produced for the network for the 2007-2008 season. MTV music supervisor Jen Schwartz will be overseeing the placement of the songs.

The band formed in the fall of 1984, and since 1987 has comprised bassist-keyboardist Bruce Pike, percussionist Charlie Andaloro, and guitarists Steve Shurman and Ernie Trionfo.

Home At Last played hundreds of live dates between 1985 and 1991 but since then has pretty much retired from live performing to concentrate on studio work, not unlike the post-“Sgt. Pepper’s” Beatles and XTC. However the band says there’s “a strong possibility” that Home At Last will be making live appearances in the near future to play some of the music from the CD.
