READING, Pa., May 2007 – EnerSys, the world’s largest manufacturer, marketer and distributor of industrial batteries, today introduced a new ODYSSEY Trolling Thunder battery, the new TT1370, that only requires one charge before storage and one charge prior to the battery’s first use each season. This long storage life helps users avert the typical hassle associated with recharging traditional marine batteries every few months. In addition, because the TT1370 serves as both an engine starting battery and a trolling battery, users can avoid lugging along two separate batteries for their fishing excursions.

Other beneficial features of the new battery include a 70 percent longer cycle life than other comparable batteries and the ability to completely recover from extreme over-discharging (as low as 6 V) as well as the capability of recharging fully in four to six hours. The TT1370 was designed to withstand high impact shock and mechanical vibration, and because it can operate in temperatures as low as -40°C (-40°F), is ideal for outdoor applications and abusive elements.

The 12-volt battery has a three- to five-year service life, is shipped fully charged and can be mounted on any side (except inverted) without sacrificing performance attributes. It has been classified as non-spillable by the US Department of Transportation and has a limited two-year, full-replacement warranty.

Specifications for the TT1370 include cranking amps (CA/MCA) of 1370 A, cold cranking amps (CCA) of 1170 A, hot cranking amps (HCA) of 1545 A and five-second pulse hot cranking amps (PHCA) of 2150 A. Its nominal capacity for the 20-hour rate and the 10-hour rate is 100 Ah and 92 Ah respectively, and the battery features SAE and Stud Marine terminals.

With a deep cycle capability of 400 cycles at 80 percent depth of discharge (DOD), the TT1370 measures 13.00” L x 6.80” W x 9.41” H (330.2 mm x 172.7 mm x 239.0 mm), weighs 77.8 lbs. (35.3 kg), and has a reserve capacity of 205 minutes. Internal resistance is 2.2 mW, short circuit current is 5000 A and torque specifications are 150-200 inch-lbs. Operating temperature ranges from -40°C to 45°C (-40°F to 113°F).

Pricing for a new ODYSSEY TT1370 is $362.77 MSRP. The battery is in stock and available from ODYSSEY/Trolling Thunder distributors, a list of which can be found at www.trollingthunderfactory.com.
