According to a new survey of users at StudentLoanArea.com, the majority of people who have student loans have between $10,000 and $25,000 that they owe. 18% have between $25,000 and $40,000, 18% also have between $40,000 and $50,000 and only 9% owe more than $50,000

According to Mike Abraham, publisher and webmaster of StudentLoanArea.com, “While we have many people who carry over $25,000 in student loans, it is heartening to see that the majority are under that amount.” Abraham said. “With the ever increasing cost of education, and the increased attendance in both traditional and online education, it is important that people do not get too deep into debt before they even join the workforce. The last thing anyone wants to do is have to work 10 years just to pay off their education”

By taking advantage of scholarships, grants and other financial aid, many students can minimize the amount in student loans they will have when the graduate. Post graduation, loan consolidation programs are a must and in many cases you can defer payments if you are in financial hardship.

Abraham often directs web surfers to his websites free resource guide or articles, tips and strategies that will help them get out of debt.
