London Calling Country Loving Caravanners?

10 May 2007 — London may be right up there as the most unlikely of destinations for country-loving caravanners but cover4caravans.co.us has some surprising news – on Sunday May 17th, frustrated caravanners in the capital will have their dose of all things green thanks to the Forestry
Commission.

London’s well-hidden green acres will be opened up with a free guided walk through Pages Wood in Havering. “The idea is to give people the chance to get to know their local green spaces,” says cover4caravans director, Richard Burgess.

“Caravan owners in the inner city often feel frustrated at the lack of green space and the need to travel miles out of their way to get back to nature with their caravan. This initiative is designed to show the city’s caravan aficionados that open spaces are closer than they may think.”

Pages Wood is one of twelve Thames Chase Community Forests managed by the commission in England. It is part of a project which aims "to renew and regenerate the landscape at the edge of East London and South Essex by creating a varied wooded landscape for local people to influence, create, use, enjoy and cherish".

Community Ranger Luke Everitt and local volunteer wardens will lead the walk through the 75-acre wood, which boasts more than six kilometres of paths for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
