AnglingMasters.com, a Social Networking Web Site for Anglers, Partners with Sportsman's News for National Online Fishing Derby

PROVO, Utah - May 2007 - AnglingMasters.com, an online social networking Web site specifically for anglers, today announced its first online "Lodge Tournament" hosted by Sportsman's News, the official publication of America's premier outdoor outfitter, Sportsman's Warehouse. Lodges are Web pages within AnglingMasters.com for businesses or organizations that are strong supporters of the angling community.

Through its AnglingMasters.com Lodge pages, Sportsman's News will host the "Sportsman's Lodge Classic," a $54,000 cash purse, multi-species online angling tournament open to all AnglingMasters.com members in the continental United States and Alaska. The 17-week tournament is scheduled to run May 15 - September 10, 2007.

"With the creation of Lodges on AnglingMasters.com, we realized that it was a great way to give anglers the chance to compete in a fishing derby," said Lonnie Stout, of Sportsman's News. "The Sportsman's Lodge Classic allows all sports anglers, wherever they live in the United States and no matter what level of ability, to participate in a fishing tournament."

During the Sportsman's Lodge Classic, $2,000.00 will be paid out weekly to the top five fish and best single fish scores calculated by Angling Masters' proprietary "Fish Calculator."

The Angling Masters Fish Calculator determines a point total for 12 eligible species caught in any freshwater lake, pond, river, or stream in North America. The Fish Calculator's algorithm considers how large each species typically grows in specific geographic regions and scores each fish independently. The calculated scores of anglers competing in Angling Masters sponsored tournaments can then be compared to identify the winners, no matter where they live. In effect, Angling Masters' Fish Calculator turns North America into one big lake.

To participate in the Sportsman's Lodge Classic, anglers need to purchase an official Angling Masters Measuring Tape, which are available now at any Sportsman's Warehouse location across America for $20.00, or can be purchased online at AnglingMasters.com after May 15.

"This groundbreaking, multi-species event means that we are now able to determine America's best angler overall angler - America's first Angling Champion," said Dave Abbott, founder, president and chief executive officer of Angling Masters International. "I look forward to watching the cream rise to the top. Angling Masters is excited to be one of the sponsors of the Sportsman's Lodge Classic tournament and encourage all of our American members to participate in the fun."
