Chip has been performing and composing for over 25 years (since the age of 6). Unlike most kids, Chip knew he wanted to be a musician at an early age. Growing up in the Englewood and Pullman districts of Chicago’s Southside, Funk, R&B, and rock music permeated his home. He grew up listening to music legends such as James Brown, Sly & The Family Stone, The Jackson 5, Funkadelic, Santana, Prince, and many more. Chip’s grandfather played and sang with legends such as B.B. King in the late ‘40s. It’s no wonder that Chip has used these influences to make his latest project, Chip Ratliff’s Electric Chittlin’ Stew, an eclectic combination of Funk and R&B, with touches of Blues and Latin music. It is a vision of music harmony that will touch and excite all who witness it.
