Military Families Fight to Achieve Financial Fitness

July 03, 2004 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Los Angeles, CA – As the Fourth of July holiday quickly approaches, we are reminded about the special "unspoken' needs of the families of military personnel. Since military salaries are substantially less than ones in the private sector, younger families are especially in need of financial help as their loved ones serve our country.

"In talking to military families, I was disappointed to find out how few of them actually knew about this federally-mandated form of financial liposuction that was available to them,' said Richard M. Krawczyk, Ph.D., author of the #1 bestselling book Financial Aerobics: How to Get Your Finances into Shape (Cavalier Publishing). "Hopefully, my advice will somehow reduce the level of stress for these families.'

Dr. Richard advises military families how they can:

• Immediately reduce the interest rate on their credit cards to 6%.
• Immediately reduce the interest rate on their mortgages to 6%.
• Eliminate the fear of eviction if their rent is under $2,465.
• Immediately stay any legal action against them, such as bankruptcy, foreclosure or divorce proceedings.
• Immediately terminate a housing lease with 30 day's written notice if deployed over ninety days.
• Immediately terminate an automobile lease of the servicemember who has received PCS orders outside the continental United States, or who is being deployed for 180 days without any termination fee.

"It may seem like the entire situation is out your control,' said Dr. Richard. "But you can still control your own finances…and it's easier than you think.'
