The Company

Championship, LLC, which started doing business in 1963 under the name D & R Industries, Inc., distributes billiard fabrics and supplies to the pool table industry. Since 1990 it has manufactured the "Championship Line" of billiard fabrics and has since changed its name to Championship, LLC. Due to the high quality of its billiard fabrics and its dedication to customer service, Championship, LLC currently enjoys a dominant market share in the United States.

The Challenge

In 2006, the company implemented the Microsoft Dynamics GP back office software package which included general accounting modules, sales order processing, purchasing, and inventory control. With the new system in place the sales force—including sales management and company management—needed an efficient and expedient way to analyze the sales data. The few sales reports that Dynamics GP included were not robust enough for the management’s needs. In addition they wanted to incorporate the sales history from their old legacy system into the sales reports in order to show sales trends that extended to multiple years.

The Solution

The company decided to use Interactive Reporting (IR) for Dynamics GP to provide the needed sales analysis functionality. With its user-friendly interface and robust report-generating engine, IR provided a central point for sales representatives and management to analyze and track their sales performance. And by extending the standard Dynamics GP Sales Mapping to include the old legacy data, analyzing years worth of sales became a matter of a few mouse clicks.

The collection of reports that come out of the box—coupled with the ability to modify the layouts—provided immediate and useful results. In addition, the outstanding speed of the program (when installed on a fast IIS server) generated reports in seconds. The flexibility of sorting, grouping, and drilling down the displayed data allowed the user to review multiple report layouts from the same generated report. IR for Dynamics GP provided the depth and breadth of analysis that standard sales reports could not.

Interactive Reporting has been the highlight of the new system implementation at Championship, LLC, and undoubtedly it will be at any company that chooses this product. Company management is highly impressed with the capabilities that came already built into the program. This implementation has been a great success!
