The Florida CCIM Chapter - North District has awarded scholarships for 2007. Recipients are Teena Strickland, Strickland Real Estate Group, Patricia Owings, Strategic Sites, Glenda Snelgrove, Kellogg Development, and Heather Minter-Prediletto, Phoenix Realty.

"These deserving recipients will be able to move toward their goal of becoming a CCIM with the scholarships that are awarded this year," said scholarship committee chairman Lee Chastain of CSX.

Commercial real estate owners, users and investors are increasingly looking to the expertise of CCIMs (Certified Commercial Investment Members). CCIMs are backed by an exceptional education in investment real estate and a thorough understanding of the marketplace.

"Some of the recipients are very experienced and close to completing the requirements for the CCIM designation," noted Chastain. "Others are just starting their commercial careers and will utilize the scholarships to gain knowledge about commercial real estate transactions."

In order to earn the CCIM designation, candidates must complete four core courses, complete a resume of their commercial experience meeting minimum dollar and volume requirements, and pass a comprehensive final exam.

Individual investors, small businesses, corporations and institutions look to CCIMs for knowledgeable direction in all aspects of the commercial property transaction.

The North Florida CCIM extends a welcome to established members, as well as industry novices, residential real estate specialists, and allied professionals. The organization allows members to maintain contacts within all areas of the real estate industry through regular networking opportunities in Northeast Florida.
