Next month when Pete Carroll takes the field with his roster of “Trojan Flashback Football” participants, there will be a cast of USC superstars joining in the camp activities.

“Trojan Flashback Football, A Fantasy Camp for Grown-Up Kids” kicks off on the USC campus on Thursday, June 16th and concludes on the turf of the L.A. Coliseum on Saturday, June 18th.

In addition to Pete Carroll and his staff simulating game-like conditions for practice sessions, chalk talks, and Coliseum rituals, Trojan Flashback Football participants spent hours last year with Ron Mix, Ronnie Lott, Paul McDonald, Anthony Davis, Marlin McKeever, Charles White, and other Trojan superstars.

This year the cast of Trojan Superstars has been expanded to include Marcus Allen, Anthony Munoz, and Rodney Peete. Individually and collectively, they represent virtually every crown to be won at the professional and collegiate level of football: National Championship, Super Bowl Championship, All American, Rose Bowl Champion, All Pro, Pro Bowl Participant, College Hall of Fame, and NFL Hall of Fame.

Thursday afternoon’s first session starts off in Heritage Hall with Marcus Allen: “I’m looking forward to participating in Trojan Flashback Football. The success of last year’s program has been well documented; returning to campus, getting back out on the practice field, and interacting with the Flashback players, coaches, and owners will be a lot of fun for me personally!”

Anthony Munoz, a sideline figure on many of USC’s recent football games adds: “Any opportunity to spend time with Pete Carroll and his staff is an opportunity not to pass up. I’ve watched him up close and his love for the game and his enthusiasm are contagious. For a USC fan to be able to suit up and absorb Pete’s national championship atmosphere is tremendous! I look forward to being part of Trojan Flashback Football, being with some of our loyal Trojan fans, swapping jokes with some of the other Trojan football alums who are participating, and watching Pete and his staff in action.”

Recently retired from the NFL and now joining the Fox Sports team as a host on “The Best Damn Sports Show”, Rodney Peete will be part of a Quarterback Challenge on Friday afternoon. Peete has been invited back to join in with other former USC quarterbacks – Paul McDonald, Mike Rae, Rob Preston, Rob Hertel, and Scott Tinsley to help each Flashback team score extra points in their on-the-field competitive challenges. “What a great opportunity for USC fans and alumni to step onto the practice field and sit in a classroom with Pete Carroll. His enthusiasm is extraordinary and his unique approach to practice and game-planning make Trojan Flashback Football a great experience for all,” says Rodney Peete.

Trojan Flashback Football is designed for football fans in general, USC alumni and boosters in particular. By enrolling as a Trojan Flashback Player, a Flashback Coach, or a Flashback Owner, Flashback participants can choose their own level of participation.

Following Marcus Allen’s opening session speech, all Flashback participants step onto the practice field for an NFL-style scouting combine workout. Following a training table dinner after this first practice session, the Flashback Coaches and Flashback Owners convene behind a closed-door session at the Downtown Marriott for a Player Draft session. When the doors re-open an hour later, every Flashback participant is a member of a specific team for the duration of camp.
