Lakeshore Staffing Focuses on Seniors, Wins Award

DALLAS, Texas – Over the past year, the staffing managers at Lakeshore have been working to include the more “experienced” members of the Dallas job-seeking community. Through seminars and free training, Lakeshore showed that the seniors of Dallas are equally as important to recruiters as other candidates.

This month, The City of Dallas Senior Affairs Commission recognized their efforts by giving Lakeshore Staffing their award for Employer of the Year in the Mid-Size Company Division. The award, given last Friday, honors Lakeshore, a company specializing in temporary and direct-hire placements, for their efforts to train and recruit Dallas-area seniors for local employment opportunities.

“Lakeshore has always recognized the value that seniors bring to our community,“ says Allison Harding, manager of Lakeshore’s Dallas office. “They add diversity to our workforce, and that’s so valuable. This year we were honored to have the opportunity to work more closely with area seniors and really focus not only on training and recruiting, but on building relationships.”

Already a strong recruiting presence in Dallas and Fort Worth, Lakeshore has always offered free computer skills training to its applicants of all ages. This award from the Dallas Senior Affairs Commission reflects its focus on enhancing the skills and employability of the senior community in the region.

Along with Harding, Lakeshore staffing manager Anita Paxton offered her expertise at the Dallas Senior Center. According to Paxton, “Seniors are often overlooked in the job market. It was exciting to be able to reach out to this valuable part of our community. We were just happy to be a part of it.”
