Thermal Energy Ventures Ltd the Brighouse based heating and air conditioning group has posted record results for 2006 with both sales and profits well up on the previous year.

The operating company, TEV Ltd (previously IMI Air Conditioning) was bought from IMI plc in October 2003 through a management buy-in buy-out. Its products include Marstair and Quartz air conditioning systems and Heatking BWarm air source heat pumps – renewable energy heating products for domestic properties.

TEV Ltd employs 96 people in Brighouse and the company’s products are sold throughout the UK and mainland Europe and are exported worldwide to countries including Australia, Hong Kong, Canada and South Africa.

Over 300 of the company’s energy efficient BWarm heat pumps have been installed around the country and included in this are a number of properties in Kirklees and Calderdale where council sponsored programmes have resulted in reduced heating bills for the occupants and lower carbon emissions.

In 2006 the company started installing the Marstair Eco cooling and heating systems in shops, restaurants, surgeries and houses and now over 60 units are in operation in the local area providing comfort cooling in the summer and very efficient heating (over 300%!) in the colder months.

The Quartz chilled water heating and cooling systems have been specified for a number of prestigious new and refurbished buildings including St Pancras Railway Station, the Ritz Hotel Restaurant in London and the Wimbledon Tennis Club Centre Court as well as numerous university and hospital buildings which need quiet and efficient control of the working environment.

A strong demand for the company’s products and the launching of more energy saving products over the next few months should ensure that 2007 turns out to be another good year for the Thermal Energy Ventures group.
