The OC Pavilion will be featuring the Blues and R&B sensation Reno Jones June 16, for one-night only. The world class OC Pavilion is pleased to present the award winning Blues and R&B sensation Reno Jones to the main stage on June 16th. Tickets range from $25 to $35 and can be purchased online or at the OC Pavilion Box Office.

Reno Jones is a busy Southern California-based R&B and Blues band that was an award winner at the Monterey Blues Festival, and has performed at B.B. King’s, Bluesapalooza, and The National Orange Show. They have also been picked to headline and host the Blues Stage at the Los Angeles County Fair this year in September.

Reno Jones is fronted by a powerful female singer and flanked by a four-piece born section and four-piece rhythm section. Reno Jones started in 1997, consisting of alumni from such funk and R&B outfits as Groove Therapy and the Marshall Hook Band. The live show is a mix of original tunes and ballads mixed in with popular covers. The band features Jerri-Sue Dawson on lead vocals, Doug Chapline on guitar and lead vocals, David Jones on keyboard, Mike Crandall on trombone and vocals, K.O. Skines on trumpet and flugelhorn, Roger Ehrnman on tenor sax, Larry Paschall on drums and Chris Searight on baritone sax.

The band has inspired and is featured in a theatrical documentary film “Channeling Herzog” which was directed and is being edited by Harry Knapp, Sundance award winner for “The Eyes of Tammy Faye”. The band’s own concert/documentary DVD is also being completed and covers their 10 years of performing together and making music. Footage shot during the June 16th show will be used on the DVD.

Reno Jones is preparing to start work on another recording of original music, to compliment the other 3 CD’s that are currently in release. Their 2003 CD was recorded live at The California Institution for Women.

The concert begins at 8:00 PM and doors to the OC Pavilion and Ambrosia Restaurant open at 5:00 PM. Dinner reservations are highly recommended.

The OC Pavilion is home to an intimate 529 person capacity theatre and the 5-star, world class restaurant Ambrosia. The Vault VIP Lounge is open before and after each theatre performance, offering appetizers, drinks and desserts featuring a live jazz trio. The Vault VIP Lounge, formerly a bank vault, retains its authenticity by keeping the original vault doors while incorporating the feel of an upscale lounge with custom leather seating and hightop pedestal tables.

About Reno Jones
In 1997, Mike Crandall, Doug Chapline, and K.O. Skinsnes decided to put a band together composed of friends that all had good day gigs (regular jobs). They decided on a rhythm section with 4 horns and a lead female vocalist (chick singer) in order to get a powerful sound. Two years later, Reno Jones was born.
