Detroit, MI (June 6, 2007) On Saturday June 9th 1pm – 4pm and Sunday June 10th 1pm – 4pm, the Great Lakes Regional Chapter of the International Association of Home Staging Professionals will launch their first-ever Parade of Staged Homes. Homes on the tour, which includes houses throughout the Detroit metro area, have been professionally staged in order to prepare them for sale. Proceeds from donations collected at each staged house will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit.

“Statistics show that staged houses sell twice as quickly as un-staged homes,” says Carolyn Stieger, president of the Great Lakes Chapter. “This will get people into homes that have all been staged by Accredited Staging Professionals™, and allow the public to experience the difference, both visually and emotionally, that staging can make in a house. They’ll see for themselves why staged homes sell faster.” To see photos of the featured houses, and to find directions, go to the website: www.paradeofstagedhomes.com

There is no fee to walk through these homes, but donations will be collected at the houses. All donations collected at the event will fund two major projects at the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit. The front office and lobby areas of the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit will receive a complete makeover in September. Then, in October, the professional stagers will select a family that has been staying at the Ronald McDonald House while their child has been hospitalized nearby, and provide a makeover of the recovering child’s bedroom in the family’s home.

The Ronald McDonald House of Detroit has served families of hospitalized children as a home-away-from-home since 1979. Only steps away from premier medical facilities at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, families can nurture and support their children undergoing specialized medical treatment. The House offers 25 bedrooms, a large kitchen and dining area, play areas, TV rooms and a garden, all designed to make families comfortable during their stay. For more information, visit rmhdet.org.
