“Affiliate marketing is a win-win for both Jenson USA and the web publisher. This new program lets web publishers who operate cycling related sites transform them from hobby sites into small businesses.” says Justin Christopher, affiliate program manager at Jenson USA. “Since the dot-com crash, rates for pay-per-impression advertising have plummeted and this is a great way for publishers to get a sustainable business model working on their sites.”

Jenson USA President and CEO Michael Cachat adds “We hope this new program will encourage the creation of cycling-related websites like message boards, product review sites, and blogs by providing a revenue stream for site operators. A thriving web ‘virtual’ community is just as important for the future of cycling as our local clubs.”

Affiliate marketing is an increasingly popular way for web publishers to sell advertising on their sites. Unlike traditional web advertising methods, where banners are often sold by impressions on a CPM basis, affiliate programs pay a commission to publishers as a percentage of the final sale when they send traffic that makes a purchase at a merchant. Similar programs are operated by other popular ecommerce sites such as, Dell Computer, and Circuit City.
