Spectrum Sports Int'l announces the addition of a 3-person Coconut Tree Climb to its lineup of interactive amusement products.

“Again we are listening to …our valued customers in regards to improvements and ideas.” stated owner Rod Leishman. Leishman received several customer requests for a higher capacity version of original Coconut Tree Climb at the IISF Super Trade Show & Extravaganza in February. He immediately started collaborating with his design team to develop a 3-person model. “This is a winner. Based upon our trusted mobile climbing wall design we have been able to add a third tree to make this …even better.”

The original model features two realistic coconut trees and has been met with tremendous accolades in the amusement industry. It received honorable mention for “Best New Product” at IAAPA in Atlanta, GA and “Most Unique Outdoor Display” at the IISF Super Trade Show & Extravaganza in 2007.

The Coconut Tree Climb has been met with equal enthusiasm by operators and the paying public. John Johnston, President of The Jumpworks, LLC, recently reported weekend lines of up to 45 minutes at Virginia Beach. Much of their success has come from incorporating the product’s climbing timer into promotions.

The Coconut Tree Climb operates on the same principle as a climbing wall. Instead of scaling a rock face, climbers race up coconut tree trunks. Climbers wear a harness and are connected to an automatic belay safety system. If they slip off the tree, they are slowly lowered to the ground by the safety system. The Coconut Tree Climb reflects an industry trend towards highly detailed, themed attractions.

The Coconut Tree Climb has proven especially popular at resort and seaside locations according to Leishman. Several units are in operation on both coasts of the US as well as the Caribbean and Europe. Mobile and stationary models are offered by Spectrum Sports Int'l.
