Blue Ribbon Residential Construction President Receives Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist Designation

June 17, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
RALEIGH, N.C. – Blue Ribbon Residential Construction has announced that John Sperath, president of the company, has received a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation from the National Home Builders Association. To receive the CAPS designation, Sperath was required to complete a three-day program offered by the Raleigh-Wake Home Builders Association. Each participant was trained to the technical, business management and customer service skills essential for marketing, designing and building aesthetically enriching, barrier-free living environments fit for older and maturing adults. Program curriculum focused on home modifications for aging-in-place remodeling expenditures and projects, as well as an in-depth overview of common home barriers and solutions for adults over the age of 50.

To maintain a CAPS designation, graduates are required to attend continuing education programs and/or participate in community outreach service projects. To date, the CAPS designation is the only national program that trains remodelers how to design and implement aging-in-place modifications.
