(Nashville, Tennessee – June 2007) Sonny Burgess recently returned from another eventful CMA Music Festival in Nashville, TN. During his time in the Music City, Sonny was part of many exciting events.

His busy week began as he took the field as an official umpire for the City of Hope Celebrity Softball Game. “I played a lot of baseball through college. Being on the baseball diamond brought back many great memories. To be able to participate in such an event with all of my friends made it even more enjoyable,” said Sonny. Right off the bat (no pun intended), Sonny knew he was going to have a great week.

A few days later Sonny took the stage performing on the Greased Lightning Daytime Stages at Riverfront Park. Fans raced to the Border’s booth to purchase Sonny’s latest album, Stronger. As a result, Border’s on-site locations sold out of his albums.

After his performance, the PovertyNeck Hillbillies asked Sonny to do an acoustic set opening for them that evening at Nashville hot spot Code Blue. Sonny agreed and began his set with “The More I’m Around Some People, The More I Like My Dog.” Life imitating art, Sonny found comfort in his lyrics after he had to chase around town to find his vehicle had been towed. Sonny now dedicates the song to Nashville tow truck drivers.

Sonny’s CMA Music Festival week concluded with an array of fan meet and greets, radio remotes, autograph sessions, and interviews.

Sonny is back in Texas for a series of appearances, including a performance at Six Flags Over Texas. This week, Sonny will tape two shows, one with the Texas Broadcasting Network at Campuzanos in Waxahachie, Texas and the other with Fort Worth Community Television for their "Song in All of Us" series. The week following he will shoot Country Crossroads with rodeo favorite Roy Cooper. Country Crossroads will be broadcast on Comcast cable channel 27 in Texas (DCTV-Dallas Community TV). The show will also be viewable online at www.dctvdallas.org.
