AQUEBOGUE, NY (June 21, 2007) — Visitors to Palmer Vineyards, the family-friendly North Fork winery, can celebrate Independence Day for five days, beginning June 30. Palmer Vineyard’s Fourth of July festival features hayrides through the vineyard, tastings, hot-dogs, an author discussion and live music.

On all five days visitors to the winery on Sound Avenue in Riverhead who purchase a glass of wine (21 and over) or Kool Aid will receive a free hot dog. Vineyard hayrides will be available, weather permitting, also with the purchase of a glass of wine or Kool Aid. The promotion is available on Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Also on Saturday, singer-songwriter Rob Cannillo performs on the winery’s spacious deck on Saturday, 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Cannillo, who was raised on a diet of the Allman Brothers, Ray Charles, BB King and Bob Dylan, writes songs with grit, emotion and
meaning, and delivers them with a smoky vocal.

On Sunday, at 11 a.m. author Neal Gabler will discuss his book, “Walt Disney: The Triumph of the American Imagination” with broadcast personality Larry Davidson as part of Palmer’s long-running Writers on the Vine series. Cost of the book discussion is $11 per person and includes a glass of a featured wine or bottled water. Reservations Recommended. Call 631-722-WINE ext. 21

Also, on Sunday, singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Barry Waller will perform a wide variety of covers as well as original material from 2:00 - 6:00 pm

Established in 1986, Palmer Vineyards, the most-awarded winery on Long Island, has been described by New York Times wine writer Howard Goldberg as “Long Island’s most important winery.” Palmer, which has 125 acres of grapes, sells its wines in 23 states and five foreign countries.
