Westford Academy Theater Arts to Perform on Broadway

New York, NY - July 2007, — Westford Academy Theater Arts will be performing at the National Performing Arts Festival in New York City on February 24-25. The festival features some of the nation’s top high school and middle school acting troupes performing selections for a panel of theater experts. Following their performance the Westford Academy drama troupe will attend a private, interactive feedback clinic. A special awards ceremony recognizing the top performing groups and actors will be held on February 25th.

During the festival each theater troupe will also participate in educational seminars on topics such as audition techniques, stage movement, and vocal training. The seminars are taught by New York theater professionals.

Westford Academy Theater Arts are under the direction of Michael Towers. At the 2006 festival they received a special Judges award and a Superior rating for their production of “Raft of the Medusa”. During this festival they will be presenting “The Trojan Women”.
