Hampton, the national brand of more than 1,400 mid-priced Hampton Inn and Hampton Inn & Suites hotels, opened 15 properties in May 2007, representing 937 new rooms. The new openings include five Hampton Inn hotels and ten Hampton Inn & Suites properties. All openings are franchised, newly constructed hotels.

“We remain on pace for a record-setting year of brand development,” said Phil Cordell, senior vice-president, Hampton brand management. “With the opening of 15 Hampton hotels in May, we will be able to reach guests in regions all across the United States bringing them the value and friendly service they demand from a Hampton hotel.”

“In May, we also continued to see growth from our Hampton Inn & Suites product which accounts for more than two thirds of our pipeline in 2007,” Cordell added.

From a product development standpoint, Hampton recently announced it has achieved full implementation of its new bedding package, “Cloud Nine. The New Hampton Bed Experience,” which features a crisp, white duvet cover enveloping a plush 200-thread-count comforter, white sheets and the guest’s choice of down or foam jumbo size pillows. For consumers who would like to take their hotel room experience home with them, Hampton has a new program available online at www.hamptonhomecollection.com, where many of Hampton Hotels’ guestroom amenities are available for purchase.

The 15 new openings include hotels in Alaska, Utah, New York, Ohio, Texas, California, and Tennessee, and mean that a total of 937 rooms have been added to Hampton's portfolio of Inn and Suites Hotels.
