Under the terms of the agreement, Travelodge has granted Spectrum exclusive WiFi rights for its entire estate of hotels, such that Spectrum will be the exclusive provider of WiFi services to all of Travelodge’s current and future hotels until 2014. Spectrum believes that this contract is the largest hotel WiFi contract in the UK.

Within the UK, Travelodge currently has 306 hotels with an ambitious roll-out programme to expand to over 500 hotels in the UK by 2012. Currently, Spectrum operates WiFi services in 25% of Travelodge’s estate and is on schedule to install the service in the majority of Travelodge hotels by the end of 2007.

Spectrum is rapidly becoming a leading provider of wireless internet access services to hotels in the UK, complementing its market leading position in the provision of public access internet desks. WiFi services has become a prominent part of Spectrum’s interactive business and Spectrum believes that the roll-out of WiFi services into Travelodge’s estate will significantly increase Spectrum’s WiFi revenues, which are currently running at almost £2m per annum.

Mark Lewarne, Chief Executive of Spectrum commented: “We are delighted to have been chosen as the exclusive provider of WiFi services to Travelodge until 2014. This is a very important relationship and contract for us, and we are confident that we will provide an innovative and high quality service to Travelodge’s customers.”

Jon Mortimore, Travelodge, Chief Finance Officer said: “We are very pleased to expand our existing relationship with Spectrum Interactive - to install WiFi throughout our estate. Annually over 6.5 million customers use Travelodge, and we want to ensure we offer everything they need for a comfortable stay in all of our hotels.”
