Avanta’s Sky Diver Takes Giant Leap Of Faith For Charity

July 03, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Presha Kanadia, a marketing assistant for serviced office company Avanta, has set her sights high and raised over £1,000 for charity by jumping 13,000 ft out of an aeroplane. The 25 year old from Harrow teamed up with her brother, Sachin Kanadia, to embark on her first ever parachute jump. The sibling pair were raising money for the children’s charity SPARKS, which aims to give every child a healthy start in life.

While admitting to always having a head for heights, this was the first time she has ever undertaken such a daredevil challenge. She said: “People thought I was either brave or stupid, but it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience which I will never forget. The support I have received from friends, family and colleagues at Avanta has been tremendous and I’m very grateful for everyone’s generous donations to what is a fantastic cause.”

Chris Taylor, Avanta’s Director of Marketing and Business Development, said: “Avanta has been a long-time supporter of SPARKS, which is such a tremendous charity, so we were delighted to support Presha. However, jumping out of an aeroplane goes beyond the call of duty for charity, and everyone at Avanta is extremely proud of her. The wet weather failed to dampen her spirits and enthusiasm as a first time jumper, but the burning question is will it also be her last jump!?”

Presha will be keeping her feet firmly on the ground for now, continuing her role in supporting Chris Taylor in promoting Avanta offices to prospective new occupiers. She is still collecting sponsorship for her dare-devil exploits, and anyone wishing to make a donation can do so at www.justgiving.com/sachinpreshaskydive.

The charity, SPARKS, funds research that has a practical, positive impact on the lives of babies and children. Many important areas of paediatric research depend heavily on funding from SPARKS. Since 1991, SPARKS has funded over 160 medical projects in the UK, committing over £13 million to tackle conditions as diverse as cerebral palsy, meningitis, the dangers of premature birth, spina bifida, childhood arthritis and cancers.

Avanta is rapidly gaining a reputation as one of the UK’s fastest growing serviced office companies. The firm now operates business centres across London, and has recently expanded into the Thames Valley, Harrow and Birmingham. The primary appeal to the occupier, of the types of serviced offices available through Avanta, is that they offers highly flexible, unbranded office space, with advanced and competitively priced business technology, tailor made to meet the requirements of the company, whatever shape or size.

The company has also launched a virtual office service – Avanta Virtual PA. Designed to offer businesses a complete package of office support but without the actual office space, Virtual PA can deliver a full range of business centre facilities to home workers, business start-ups, professionals on the move, or larger organisations seeking a market presence in London.

Businesses can benefit, as part of Avanta’s virtual office community, by having a prestigious London address at one of Avanta’s premier London business centres, including the Media Village without paying the required rent to physically occupy the building. Mail is handled by Avanta staff and is forwarded on the same day as delivery. Clients can even enjoy their own London telephone number and call management service, and have access to Avanta’s experienced office back-up support team.

Aligned to the launch of the Virtual PA, is Avanta’s meeting and training room service (MTR). For companies who wish to hire space for a board away day or brainstorm session, a day’s interviewing or seminar and training, Avanta can offer meeting rooms complete with audio and video conferencing. Also part of the Media Village Meeting and Training Room package is catering and secretarial services, while specialist meeting coordinators are available to take care of the smallest detail.
