July 08, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
Denver, CO – July 8, 2007 – Jill Stevenson, local musician and songwriter hits the right notes for fans during an encore performance at the Walnut Room. On Saturday, July 14th Stevenson returns by popular demand for her 4th performance — doors open at 8:30. Stevenson is well known in the Denver scene, and fans that follow her music know all to well that her silky smooth voice and intoxicating stage presence will leave you wanting more.

Stevenson was born and raised in Colorado, but her passion for music took her to New York City a few years ago where she spends most of her time cultivating the art of song craft and working with legendary producers and musicians such as Jerry Marotta (percussionist for Peter Gabriel, Paul McCartney, Hall and Oates) and Mike Viseglia (Suzanne Vega's bandleader).

“We’re making great progress on the new album, and I can’t wait to give the Denver family a sneak preview of some of the new songs,” says Stevenson. “The fans at The Walnut Room are used to good music, and it makes you want to work even harder for them.”

During the year Stevenson tours nationally and internationally and plays in some of the most prestigious hot spots New York has to offer. In the summer season she reconnects with the “home crowd” and lures them in again and again with her new songs and humorously poetic stories.

“Jill is a consummate artist,” says Mark Sundermeier, Walnut Room, Talent Buyer. ”She’s well loved here and folks come from all over the area to hear her sultry voice and to see her pack the place full.”

About Jill Stevenson
Jill started studying piano at age seven, began her singing career at age nine with regular appearances in a small church that her parents helped to establish. She soon picked up the guitar and it was not long before she was singing her own songs before coffeehouse and open-mic audiences in and around her native Denver. Stevenson reflects a depth of soul and poetic sense that reaches well beyond her years as she has already assembled an impressive catalog of original material, which blends elements of folk, R&B, funk, and pop into a hybrid that is uniquely her own. Her unwavering commitment to expressing herself through music has contributed to the maturity she displays onstage. Her innate understanding of musicianship, reveals an artist who is not only connected with her music, but also with the audiences she plays for every week. Please also visit www.jillstevenson.com
