(TN) - Wasting no time, digital guru, DegreeZero has gained a 10-song placement with renowned production agency Bunim/Murray Productions. The two-time nonexclusive deal is for the five song EP, “Beneath The Surface”, once with the Oxygen channel hit show “Bad Girls Club” and most notably, with the legendary MTV reality shows “Real World”, “Road Rules” and “Real World Road Rules Challenge”. Music from the debut release will be showcased in MTV’s Real World “Sydney” and Season 2 of Oxygen Channel’s The Bad Girls Club. This deal positions DegreeZero within the target market initially intended, P12 – 34. “Although this is my target market this is by no means the bounds of my audience. No matter how young or how old my music has something for everyone.”

DegreeZero an original artist makes music with a variety of electronic instruments and midi control devices. The sequences, automation and programming are all done manually through the creative efforts of Derek Lefholz with additional mixing and mastering implemented by his brother, Dustin Lefholz. Being born into a life of music helped Lefholz cater a vision of what would later become DegreeZero.

Born, Derek Lefholz, to the local legend singer-songwriter, Greg Lefholz, and professional mother, Janet Stewart, he has been engulfed within the music industry from birth. While attending the University of Missouri to obtain a Business and Public Administration degree, with an emphasis in Marketing, Derek attended The Recording Workshop in Chillicothee, OH. Upon his return to the local scene to finish his Bachelor’s degree, Lefholz began audio engineering work with none other than Ken Shepherd. The late Shepherd was most recognized for his songwriting involvement with the Ozark Mountain Daredevils in the late seventies. Throughout the last eight years he has recorded a number of original songs and mix sets from many of electronic music’s sub genres including: “Together”, “The Hardcore”, “Access” and “Watalkie Mix”.

The Bunim/Murray Productions TV production firm can take credit for helping create the reality television craze when it launched MTV’s The Real World franchise in 1992. Bunim/Murray’s other shows include Starting Over (NBC), The Simple Life and Making The Band. Jon Murray, who co-founded the company with the late Mary-Ellis Bunim in 1991, leads Bunim/Murray.

DegreeZero is currently working on a full-length artist album that will be available sometime in late 2007 - early 2008. All of DegreeZero’s songs are currently available on ITunes, Rhapsody, Napster, eMusic and Sony among others.
