INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA — More than 400 participants and 20,000 spectators are expected to turn out for Jaguar Clubs of North America’s (JCNA) 2007 Challenge Championship, an exciting five-day premier event that is held in different cities across the continent every two years.

The Jaguar Association of Greater Indiana is the local affiliate club host for this year’s Challenge Championship, which will take place in downtown Indianapolis and the surrounding area from Tuesday, July 31 through Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007.

The Challenge Championship traditionally attracts the best Jaguars, the most passionate owners of the British marque and one of the largest gatherings of Jaguar enthusiasts in the United States and Canada.

Dennis Eynon, JCNA president, said he looks forward to welcoming the public as well as all of the local and North American participants who will assure the general audience a thrilling experience by viewing approximately 200 Jaguars at the Challenge Championship Concours d’Elegance at Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis on Friday, Aug. 3.

The Jaguar marque will be well represented, from the earliest 1935 SS100 to the current 2007 models, Eynon said, and “the Challenge Championship promises to be a spectacular experience of mingling among the cats of England.”

Jaguar owners will vie for top honors and national ranking at this stop on the JCNA Concours circuit. The Concours, which is open to the public, is the culmination of the five-day celebration of Jaguars for JCNA members and guests. The Concours will take place on Friday, Aug. 3 from noon to 4 p.m., with participating vehicles and their owners taking their places around the historic Monument Circle starting at 8:30 a.m.

Admission to the car display at Monument Circle is free. The public will be invited to cast their votes for “People’s Choice” honors by contributing to the Jaguar owners who have invested in a collection box, with proceeds earmarked for The Collectors Foundation, an educational grant-making organization based in Traverse City, Mich.. The Foundation is funded by collector vehicle and classic boat enthusiasts to serve young people – the next generation of collectors.

The public also will have the opportunity to join JCNA/JAGIN or subscribe to Jaguar World Monthly. Commemorative posters will be available for purchase.

Many family-oriented activities are planned throughout the five-day event for members and guests who drive or trailer their Jaguars to the international meet. Rally and slalom events will test the endurance and precision driving skills of the car owners, who also will have an opportunity to tour a central Indiana Jaguar enthusiast’s car and memorabilia collection, visit Conner Prairie to view a village depicting 19th century life in Indiana, and experience the thrill of driving a lap on the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Jaguar owners are invited to become a part of the 2007 Challenge Championship. For more information about participation in this event, please contact Cliff Burk at 812-825-9570, or visit the JCNA web site at www.jcna.com.
