“Our mission is to improve the appreciation and knowledge about one of
our most beloved institutions in Australia and encourage the promotion (and consumption!) of Australian beer,” said Miles Burke, Managing Director of Bam Creative, the company behind the project.

“The concept behind brew.com.au is simple,” he added, “it allows the
Australian public to either vote for their favourite beers, which accumulate
average ratings, or write full reviews which are fully searchable by visitors to brew.com.au. You can even see a snapshot of the top 20 beers or top 20 breweries.”

Returning visitors can also create and maintain their own profiles and return to the site to check or update the beers they like or don’t like. The system even
provides suggestions for the future based on their preferences.

Members of the brew.com.au community are then ranked according to the reviews they post on the site and can share their profile with others, encouraging more informed choices for beer drinkers all round.

Best of all, the whole system is free, whether you’re a reviewer who loves
talking about beer, a brewery who wants to encourage discussion about your
products or visitors who just want to tap into the knowledge of Australia’s beer lovers.

“In the final few weeks of testing, we’ve had beer lovers from across the
country join and start rating their favourite beers” said Bernard Sin Fat, one of the developers behind the project. “Traffic has been rising steadily since the testing launch a few weeks ago, and now we’re keen on getting as many
beer lovers joining the community.”
