Julie Westby, past president of the NAEA has taken the decision not to take on any more consultancy work in the UK property sector and enjoy the Spanish property market instead. We caught up with Julie at a conference in London and asked her why she is finally turning her back on the UK property sector.

" I haven't as such. I have just decided to spend more time in the Costa Tropical in Spain where we have a family business providing free relocation services to people moving to Spain." Julie has spent 40 years selling houses in the UK, reached the prestigious position of President and CEO of the National Association of Estate Agents, as well as attaining a good reputation for giving seminars and training throughout the UK. We asked Julie what she will be doing in the Granada coastal town of Almunecar and she explained " Our web site www.wisemovetospain.com drives many enquiries and leads to many people making viewing trips with a view to buying property for a holiday home, investment or permanent relocation. My job will be to help these people find the house of their dreams. I cant think of a more beautiful place to work" Julie went on to further explain she has bought a 3 bed villa in the small fishing village of La Herradura and plans to spend at least 6 months of the year in Spain and the rest of the time travelling and at her home in the UK. We asked Julie when was she going to retire and she replied " Mañana, mañana as they say in Spain. The property market has turned the corner after a quiet year in the Granada region and the Costa Tropical is booming with two new motorways from Granada and Malaga making it a exciting location to enjoy an easier pace of life. That sounds a better proposition than retirement, so watch this space!"
