The American Marketing Association (AMA) held their third annual AMA Phoenix Spectrum Awards, honoring marketing professionals and their work within large and small companies based throughout the valley. The AMA Spectrum Awards program honored 20 categories from design to research, sales, advertising, event promotion and public relations.

Tempe-based study abroad provider Cultural Experiences Abroad (CEA) won the Printed Marketing Collateral Award, an AMA award which they have now received twice in the past three years. The category included any and all printed materials used in the marketing of a product and/or service. CEA was awarded for their 2005-2006 Academic Program Catalog and Summer Booklet.

Found online at www.GoWithCEA.com, Cultural Experiences Abroad sends US and Canadian college students on study abroad programs to 29 universities in eight countries including Australia, Costa Rica, England, France, Ireland, Italy, Mexico and Spain.

CEA’s goal in creating the catalog and associated materials was to differentiate themselves from their competition, spur increased customer interest and ultimately generate more leads and sales. The award-winning catalog helped produce a 15% increase in overall revenue and a 2% increase in market share for the company. CEA was also able to produce 37.5% more catalogs while saving an additional 28.3% in printing costs over the previous year.

Additional Spectrum award winners included SRP, Moses Anshell, Graphique Communications Design, Thrive Marketing, New Angle Media, Westcor, Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, American Red Cross, McMurry and Shonna James Communications.

Companies who received an AMA Spectrum Award were chosen by a highly respected panel of Valley-based marketing professionals based on the criteria of challenge insight, objectives, strategies, tactics and results.
