Centerville, MA – July 31, 2007 – Kevin Knippenberg, President of K.M.K Landscape Design & Installation, LLC of Centerville, MA is proud to announce his company has recently completed a project honoring the late president John F Kennedy, at the JFK Hyannis Museum in Hyannis, Massachusetts.
Sculptor David Lewis was commissioned by the Hyannis Area Chamber of Commerce to sculpt a life-size bronze statue of the late president. The statue depicts Kennedy stepping forward among rose rugosa bushes and beach grass. “It’s my attempt to portray a man – a very special man – walking the beach with his own thoughts,” said Lewis.

Knippenberg worked with Lewis to design the surrounding landscape to depict a typical Cape Cod beach scene, which is complete with sand from the Hyannisport beach that Kennedy spent a good part of his childhood learning to swim and sail. K.M.K. Landscape Design & Installation handled the installation of the landscape and the statue’s foundation.

The statue was unveiled during a sunset ceremony on May 25, 2006 that featured speeches from Senator Edward Kennedy and US Representative William Delahunt along with other state and local officials.
